Global Head of Alternative Investments, Member of the Executive Committee

Steeve Brument is Global Head of Alternative Investments at Candriam, a position he has held since November 2023. He and his team oversee a broad range of alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and private assets. They also advise clients on building diversified portfolios across liquid, illiquid traditional and alternative investments. Previously, Steeve served as Head of Quantitative Multi-Asset Strategies from 2019 to 2023, where he further developed systematic and quantitative approaches across asset classes. 

He began his career in 1997 within the Private Client Group at Merrill Lynch. In 1999, he joined Refco Securities in the Futures and Equity Derivatives Division. He joined Candriam in 2001 as a Systematic Fund Manager, focusing on the development of trading systems and systematic portfolio allocation. In 2007, he was appointed Head of Systematic Funds, expanding the firm's CTA capabilities beyond traditional trend-following models to a broader framework encompassing pattern recognition and counter-trend strategies. Throughout his career, Steeve has held leadership roles across a broad range of alternative strategies, including global macro, long/short equity, and multi-strategy. 

Steeve holds a master’s degree in finance from PSB Paris School of Business.
