He began his career in finance in Italy in the Internal Auditing team of AXA Assicurazioni in 1995, before moving into the Real Estate Property Management division at the same group. In 1999, he was appointed Head of Planning and Control at AXA SIM before joining Edmond de Rothschild SIM SpA as Wholesale Client Relationship Manager in 2004. From 2007 to 2010 Matthieu worked as Senior Relationship Manager at Fortis Investment Management Italia. Later in 2010, he became Head of Retail Italy at BNP Paribas Investment Partners SGR SpA and was subsequently appointed Head of External Distribution Italy for the same firm.
Matthieu joined Candriam in 2015 as Head of the Italian Branch, where he manages the Italian team. Since 2019, he has also been Global Head of Financial Institutions and Partnerships.
He holds a master’s in Financial and Administrative Management from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University (Paris 2).
