Bart Goosens is Co-Global Head of Equity Management at Candriam and has played a central role in the firm’s equity investment capabilities for more than two decades. Since 2001, he served as Global Head of Quantitative Equity Management, a function that was integrated in 2026 into Candriam’s unified Equity platform. This platform brings together the firm’s Quantitative and Fundamental Equity teams within a single, cohesive organisational structure.
Bart began his career at Merrill Lynch in the private banking division before joining J.P. Morgan, where he held several roles across the organization. He joined Candriam in 1997 as an Equity Portfolio Manager and Financial Analyst. While managing a range of global equity funds, he developed proprietary quantitative equity models that laid the foundation for the creation of Candriam’s Quantitative Equity Management team.
From 2023 to 2025, Bart also served as Deputy Global Head of Alternatives – Equity. He has extensive experience across global equity markets and has managed both long-only and long-short equity strategies.
Bart holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Antwerp and is a CFA Charter holder.
